Thanksgiving Gratitude

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. As I sit with my journal this morning, I am incredibly grateful for all that life is at the moment.

There’s been a lot of uncertainty, challenges, and changes since returning home from a whirlwind of adventure in mid July, but I’m now in a place that feels delightfully slow, stable and expansive.

I’m grateful to have such a beautiful state to call home. I witnessed the most insanely vibrant and magical fall. Seriously. I hadn’t experienced a Colorado fall in close to 10 years, so I appreciated nature’s inspiring palette and the reminders to let go, let go, let go.

I’m grateful for my writing practice. It has been essential in processing and making sense of my recent experiences. I have felt called to write about the Camino and my post Camino experiences, and it has been such rich material to work with. I’ve been writing less on my blog, as I’ve been immersed in other writing projects. I’m currently in a 12-week memoir writing course, which has been invaluable and full of great insights. I’m working on several essay-length memoir pieces, which I will be submitting to several writing contests, and which will eventually, hopefully, be a collection of short stories or a book.

I’m grateful for my family. Being back in Colorado has meant more time with them. I have been enjoying the random get togethers, the birthday and holiday celebrations, the late night card games, and all the love and support. Plus I have the best roomie- my brother!

I am grateful for my UX class. This program came into my life in such a serendipitous way. I’m grateful for the challenge of learning new programs and new ways of thinking. My teacher and fellow classmates are rad! I’m a little more than 1/3 of the way through the program.

I am grateful for my schedule. I work 3 days a week as a substitute teacher. (A majority of that time has been spend in the special education classroom with students with autism, which I have loved.) On the other 2 days, I have my UX class and time for writing and other passion projects. It’s been such a nice balance. (I would be perfectly content to never work a full time job again.)

I am grateful for my besties. I’m grateful for their constant love, reassurance, and thoughtful advice. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing them multiple times this year. We rang in 2022 together in Austin, spent 2 amazing weeks in Croatia and Greece, and celebrated Kailee’s 30th in Miami in October. We don’t live close to each other (I’m grateful that Aubrey, Jess and Nat are at least in the same state!) so, our time is all the more special when we are together. Looking forward to an Aspen adventure next weekend!

I’m grateful for T Swift’s latest album, Midnights. Who else has been obsessively listening? Hah.

I am grateful for my amazing friend Ashley and her Purpose program. We met back in Bali in 2016, and throughout the years, I’ve benefited from so many of her offerings (workshops, yoga teaching, 1:1 coaching/readings). I’m currently in her pilot program centered around purpose. We’ve been creating morning routines and vision boards, sitting with what’s holding us back, and envisioning the future paths that are aligned with our purpose. This has been a goldmine of a class. Ah!

I am grateful for the practices and projects that nourish me– scrapbooking, blogging, writing, yoga, organizing, cooking, reading, Muay Thai.

I am grateful for my yoga mat and candles. For new socks and winter boots. For the public library and books.

Last but certainly not least, I am grateful for my Camino fam. I’m in awe of the impact the Camino and my Camino people continue to have on my life. We’ve remained close; we often exchange life updates, pictures, memes, struggles, and of course, we’re planning more reunions. I’m so grateful for this wild bunch of humans and their love. <3

Life. Rebuilding. Growing. Reinventing. Integrating. Cocooning. Writing. Manifesting. Connecting. Teaching. Breathing. Designing. Collaborating. Laughing. Walking. Dreaming.

Grateful for all the verbs, All the things.
