Camino Day 4: Pamplona Rest Day

Date: April 4th, 2022

Distance: Less than 1 km, up and down the street for brunch and pintxos

Time: Resting all day, baby (8:30am-11:00pm)

This morning I woke up from a glorious, satisfying, deep sleep.

What better way to start a rest day than brunch with the gals? Green smoothies, chai, coffee, fruit, yoghurt, and granola, avo toast… we ordered all the things. My body was craving fruit so badly after the heavy bread and meat meals in the albergues.

We stopped by Decathlon… where we geeked out over cheap jackets & trekking poles (I bought a pair, which I’ll start using tomorrow!) Followed by a trip to the pharmacy to help fix out broken bodies- ibuprofen, icy hot, bandages, wraps, athletic tape, self massagers.

We couldn’t stop saying it…. how glad we were to have a recovery day after those first 3 grueling days.

Time to decompress, tend to our sore bodies, blog, nap, do laundry, rehydrate, eat more pintxos of course…:)

The girls had taken a trip to the grocery store earlier, so around 7pm, we made dinner together in our Airbnb while listening to some tunes. Emily and I cut the fruit for the fruit salad. Iris prepared the caprese salad, olives, and ham. Rachel made delicious, cheesy pasta. Our British friend joined and brought the wine.

We talked about all the things- aliens, religion, love languages, first memories, the things we love and appreciate most about ourselves. Loved this evening for us. (Thank you Emily for the question game.)

Full belly & full heart. Rest day in Pamplona was a great decision.

Am I ready to start walking again tomorrow? Hell yeah.
